System Requirements

The Bavarian Technic diagnostic tool for BMW is a hardware / software based tool. The kit includes the cable(s) necessary to connect your computer to your car. The software is downloaded over the internet directly from this web site.

The computer that runs Bavarian Technic must meet or exceed the following specifications:
  • Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 (All versions, including 32- and 64-bit architectures)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 1.8 GHz, dual-core processor
  • 1 GB available hard disk space
  • Internet Explorer 6.0 or newer
  • Available USB 2.0 Port
  • Available Internet connection (for program installation and software updates)
  • Screen resolution of 800x600 or greater
  • Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0 or 3.5 sp1(free download) Not required with Windows 7.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader (for reading and printing documentation)
